Methods
To begin with the analysis I wanted to put emphasis on is the locations of Leaking Underground Sites, also known as (LUSTS). Approximate location of target area is Latitude 33.8358333/Longitude -118.3397222. The area specified is the City of Torrance in Los Angeles County. Torrance approximately has 119 leaking Underground Storage Tanks. Utilizing the Geocode Address Tool in ArcCatalog\ ArcMap was essential to my location findings. Adjacent cities in a 6 to 10 mile radius from the target area had also been analyzed. Geocoding 555 LUST sites of the 25 cities not including the 10287existing USTS Underground Storage Sites in California would have been tedious to locate without the Geocoding tool. These cities had been chosen because the fact that Rancho Palos Verdes, Palos Verdes Estates, and Rolling Hills are definitely at a higher elevation that are presented with the Hill Shade and Contour maps. That is to say the act or process of leaching toxic chemicals is more favorable to lower elevation or a broad tract of land in which the rock. strata are tilted toward a common center. Unfortunately the City of Torrance is a common center before flowing into the Pacific Ocean
